C&C Group Plc has filed a planning application for an electric boiler at Tennent's Brewery, aiming to enhance sustainability by transitioning from natural gas to electric infrastructure. The boiler is designed to operate during periods of excess renewable electricity generation, leveraging Scotland's wind resources to reduce carbon emissions.

Established in 1740, Tennent's Brewery, located at Drygate Bridge, originally started as H&R Tennent by brothers Hugh and Robert Tennent. It was renamed Wellpark in 1769 and has since expanded to a 20,000 square-metre site.
