CCIB President Discusses Romania-Pakistan Business Opportunities with Ambassador Nizami
The President of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB), Iuliu Stocklosa, met with Ilyas Mehmood Nizami, the new Pakistani Ambassador to Romania, to discuss business and investment opportunities. Nizami highlighted the growth of the energy sector in Pakistan, particularly in natural gas and oil, citing Karachi's largest refinery, which was developed with Romanian engineering support.
He noted the food industry and the potential for Romanian investors, supported by Pakistan's large population of approximately 240 million. The ambassador emphasized the skilled Pakistani workforce and the importance of the IT and textile sectors.
Stocklosa presented Romania’s economic resources and capacity to provide competitive goods and services to Pakistan, aiming to strengthen bilateral trade. They agreed to organize economic forums to promote mutual interests and concluded the meeting with a tour of the CCIB Palace to discuss future cooperation.
