CECOM SEC to Transfer WSOMS Sustainment to U.S. Space Force by FY 2026
The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command Software Engineering Center will transfer life cycle sustainment of the Wideband Satellite Communications Operational Management System to the U.S. Space Force in FY 2026. This follows a directive to consolidate satellite management functions under the USSF. CECOM SEC will continue to provide software support, focusing on partnerships with programs like the Modernization of Enterprise Terminals.

In FY 2026, the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command Software Engineering Center will transfer the life cycle sustainment of the Wideband Satellite Communications Operational Management System to the U.S.
Space Force. This transition is part of a consolidation directive from 2020. The transfer includes documenting SEC functions, migrating records for Authority to Operate, and creating a Statement of Work for ongoing support of legacy SATCOM systems.
Post-transition, CECOM SEC will continue software support, particularly for the Modernization of Enterprise Terminals. The transition signifies a major shift in satellite communications management for the Department of Defense.
