Cegelec Secures MAD 2 Billion Contract for Power Infrastructure in Guinea
Cegelec has been awarded a contract exceeding MAD 2 billion to enhance Guinea's electricity infrastructure. This project aims to improve the reliability of the national grid and support renewable energy integration.

Cegelec, through its subsidiary VINCI Energies Guinée, has obtained a contract valued at over MAD 2 billion to develop high-voltage electricity infrastructure in Guinea. The project, officially launched on April 18 in Kamissaya, involves constructing extra-high-voltage transmission lines and substations, along with a 50 MWp solar photovoltaic power plant.
This initiative aims to stabilize Guinea's national grid, increase capacity, and promote renewable energy use. The contract also emphasizes local competency development through structured technology transfer to Guinean teams, enhancing the country's energy independence. Cegelec's ongoing expansion in Sub-Saharan Africa is underscored by its previous projects across multiple nations, including Benin and Côte d'Ivoire.
