Celsa Atlantic Initiates Waste Heat Recovery Project to Enhance Efficiency
Celsa Atlantic aims to implement a waste heat recovery system at its A Laracha plant to enhance operational efficiency and reduce emissions. This project seeks to minimize natural gas dependency and lower CO₂ output through preheating billets.

Celsa Atlantic's A Laracha plant is currently functioning at only 28% capacity, with Furnace No.2 inactive due to decreased demand. The company plans to capture waste heat from its electric arc furnace for preheating billets, which is expected to lower CO₂ emissions and reduce natural gas usage.
This energy recovery initiative requires regulatory approval via an updated environmental permit. The project underscores Celsa Atlantic's focus on sustainability amid challenging market conditions, which could lead to improved operational performance if demand increases.
