Center for AI Safety Appoints Devin Kim President and Launches Frontier Security Institute
The Center for AI Safety appoints Devin Kim as President and establishes the Frontier Security Institute to address national security risks from AI. This expansion aims to bridge the gap between AI development and the National Security Enterprise.

Devin Kim has been appointed President of the Center for AI Safety (CAIS), which also established the Frontier Security Institute (FSI) in Washington, D.C. FSI will serve as a liaison between frontier AI developers and national security entities, focusing on unique AI challenges in this sector.
Isaac 'Ike' Harris will lead FSI, bringing over two decades of experience from the U.S. Navy and advising on technology security. CAIS aims to enhance its research and engagement efforts in AI safety, addressing critical issues such as AI wellbeing and political manipulation. The collaboration between AI development and national security is essential to prevent technological gaps that could affect American innovation and security.
