Chemours has launched Opteon™ ZE (R-1234ze(E)) and Opteon™ 515B (R-515B) refrigerants designed for stationary chillers in data centers and commercial buildings. These refrigerants offer low-GWP options for large-scale cooling, crucial for managing the increasing heat loads and cooling demands associated with AI and cloud computing environments.
Opteon™ 515B consists of 91.1% R-1234ze(E) and 8.9% R-227ea, with a GWP of approximately 293 and an ASHRAE A1 classification. The products are currently available in strategic markets, with additional availability expected as demand increases. This launch positions Chemours to further support high-growth cooling applications while focusing on decarbonization efforts and compliance with regulatory standards.
