Cheniere Begins Commissioning Fifth Train at Corpus Christi LNG Expansion
Cheniere Energy has commenced the commissioning of the fifth train at its Corpus Christi LNG expansion, which is expected to add 28.9 million t/yr of capacity by 2026. Emissions related to the startup process may begin on January 14, while the terminal recently averaged 430,000 t/week in exports. Cheniere is also seeking FERC approval to incorporate propane into the equipment for train 5.

Cheniere Energy has started commissioning the fifth train at its Corpus Christi LNG stage 3 expansion, which will add a total capacity of 28.9 million t/yr by 2026. Emissions consistent with the startup process may begin on January 14.
The south Texas terminal exported an average of 430,000 t/week in the month ending January 11. Cheniere is also seeking FERC approval to introduce propane to train 5's equipment. The first four trains entered service in 2025, with the fourth completed ahead of schedule in December.
