Chile Installs 1.13 GW of Solar Capacity in 2025, Totaling 11.63 GW
Chile installed 1,127 MW of solar capacity in 2025, increasing total solar capacity to 11,634 MW. In comparison, the country added 2.14 GW in 2022 and 1.65 GW in 2023. The Monthly Renewable Energy Report from the National Energy Commission (CNE) indicates that 9 MW of PV capacity is currently in testing and over 4 GW of renewable projects are under construction, with completion expected by June 2027.
As of December 2025, 89 renewable projects are in the qualification stage with the Environmental Assessment Service (SEA), including 67 PV plants, 20 wind farms, and two mini-hydro projects, representing 10,511 MW of capacity and an investment of $26.487 billion. Solar energy constituted 31.1% of Chile's national generation in 2025, with non-conventional renewable energy sources comprising 50.8% of total generation.
