Chile's Corfo Allocates $10M for Green Hydrogen Projects in Biobío Region

HYDROGENSYNTHETIC FUELS

Chile's development agency Corfo has awarded $10 million in subsidies to two projects in the Biobío region to promote green hydrogen demand, each receiving $5 million. The MarVal project aims to build a 350-tonne per year hydrogen refueling station in partnership with the University of Concepción, while Fosfoquim, along with Occidental Chemical and Eka Chile, plans to establish a 1,000-tonne per year green hydrogen plant in Talcahuano. Both projects are expected to be completed in six years and will help create a domestic market for green hydrogen, supporting Chile's broader goal to become a leading exporter of green hydrogen by 2040.
