China Accelerates Green Transition, Leading Global Renewable Energy Growth
China is advancing its green transition by establishing a comprehensive policy system for carbon reduction and developing the largest renewable energy network globally. As of November 2025, China's total installed power-generating capacity reached 3.79 billion kW, with solar power capacity growing by 41.9% year-on-year to 1.16 billion kW and wind power capacity increasing by 22.4% to 600 million kW.
China's wind power has ranked first worldwide for 15 years, supported by large-scale solar projects in the northwest and offshore wind farms along the eastern coast. Additionally, Chinese exports of renewable energy products have contributed to a reduction of around 4.1 billion tons of carbon emissions in other countries from 2021 to 2025. The nation’s investments in renewable technologies are also aiding developing countries in achieving sustainable energy goals.
