China Conducts Military Drills Around Taiwan, Heightening Regional Tensions
China's People's Liberation Army conducted large-scale military drills around Taiwan, named 'Justice Mission 2025', to showcase deterrent capabilities against external support for Taiwan. The exercises included live-fire drills and the deployment of ships and aircraft, with 130 aircraft detected by Taiwan's Defense Ministry. Tensions escalated as the drills created temporary 'dangerous zones' affecting air travel. China emphasized its commitment to prevent Taiwan's independence amid rising tensions with the U.S. and Japan.

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China conducted a second day of military drills around Taiwan, termed 'Justice Mission 2025', aimed at deterring external support for the island. The PLA's Eastern Theater Command deployed destroyers, frigates, fighters, and bombers, testing sea-air coordination and blockading capabilities.
Taiwan's Defense Ministry reported 130 detected Chinese aircraft and multiple naval vessels. The drills created seven temporary 'dangerous zones', impacting air travel. Chinese long-range artillery fired live rounds towards a target zone off Taiwan's coast. Taiwan criticized the drills as provocative and destabilizing, while China warned against 'Taiwan independence' and external interference.
