China Provides $10.3 Billion in Manufacturing Parts for Russia's Oreshnik Missile Production
China has supplied Russia with over $10.3 billion in machinery and components for the production of the Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile since 2022. This support includes critical materials such as machine tools and microchips, enabling Russia to maintain its defense production despite international sanctions. The collaboration highlights a strategic partnership that bolsters Russia's military capabilities without direct military assistance from China.

Since 2022, China has supplied Russia with over $10.3 billion in machinery and components for the Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile, produced at the Votkinsk facility. This includes $3.1 billion in machine tools and $4.9 billion in microchips and memory boards, essential for modern weapon manufacturing.
The supplies encompass precision components, testing instruments, and materials for drone production, enabling Russia to continue defense production amid sanctions. The Oreshnik missile, developed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology, has a range of 800 km to 5,000 km.
It was first confirmed used in combat on November 21, 2024. By December 2025, the first brigade equipped with the Oreshnik system was operational. China's involvement reflects a strategic partnership, allowing Russia to sustain its military capabilities while avoiding overt military support.
