China Urges Global Unity Against Terrorism at UN Briefing
At a UN briefing, China's permanent representative, Fu Cong, called for a unified approach against terrorism, rejecting selective strategies and double standards. He stressed the need to reduce conflict and poverty to eliminate the breeding grounds for terrorism.
Fu highlighted the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy's impact over the past two decades in strengthening international cooperation. He urged the Afghan government to prevent its territory from becoming a terrorist hub and called on Syria to combat listed terrorist organizations. Fu also requested the Security Council to sanction the Balochistan Liberation Army and encouraged collaboration with African countries to enhance counter-terrorism efforts.
