Chinese new energy enterprises are expanding in the Middle East, with projects like the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in the UAE and the Sudair PV Project in Saudi Arabia led by Shanghai Electric. In April 2025, Shanghai Electric signed a cooperation package with Oman's Mawarid Group for wind power and localized manufacturing.

CATL established a regional hub in the UAE and a service center in Saudi Arabia. Tongwei emphasizes the Middle East's potential for photovoltaics, while Trina Solar opened a factory in Saudi Arabia in early 2025. Chinese firms are increasingly becoming partners rather than mere exporters, establishing factories and regional headquarters in the Middle East.
