China's PV Cleaning Robots Meet New Standards as Market Consolidates
China's photovoltaic cleaning robot sector establishes a 'triple-standard' framework with new regulations effective July 2026. This shift is crucial for enhancing quality and compliance, impacting procurement criteria for power generation companies.

The photovoltaic cleaning robot industry in China will implement new standards under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) starting July 1, 2026. The framework includes GB/T 44264-2024 for general technical requirements effective March 1, 2025, NB/T 11903.1-2025 for dry-cleaning robots effective June 18, 2026, and SJ/T 12055-2025 for photovoltaic module cleaning robots.
The new standards aim to mitigate power generation losses of 4%-7% caused by dust accumulation. With the exit of non-compliant products, leading firms with robust R&D capabilities are positioned to leverage this compliance cycle for growth. Multifit is aligning its product offerings with these standards, targeting international markets and enhancing operational efficiency.
