Chinese AI Firms Lumos, Vbot, and Uncharted Dynamics Secure Significant Funding
Lumos Robotics, Vbot, and Uncharted Dynamics have collectively raised hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to advance their embodied intelligence technologies. This influx of capital underscores the ongoing investment interest in the embodied AI sector, even as some investors shift focus towards consumer robotics.
Lumos Robotics has secured nearly CNY1 billion (USD137.2 million) through Series A1 and A2 funding rounds, with Mitsubishi Electric leading the investment. The funding will support R&D for large models and expand applications in industrial and logistics sectors.
Vbot raised approximately CNY500 million (USD73.6 million) to enhance mass production and develop next-gen humanoid robots, with plans to deliver a robot dog to over 1,500 customers this month. Meanwhile, Uncharted Dynamics completed a seed round led by K2VC, aiming to develop multibody dynamics solvers and expand into North America. The competition in the embodied intelligence market may prompt investors to explore consumer robotics, reflecting a cautious approach amidst rising valuations.
