Chinese Surgeon Pan Xiangbin Enhances Global Cardiac Care with AI Innovations
Pan Xiangbin, awarded 'Star of Pakistan', focuses on leveraging AI for advanced cardiac treatment. His initiatives exemplify international medical collaboration and the integration of cutting-edge technology in healthcare.

Chinese surgeon Pan Xiangbin received the 'Star of Pakistan' award on April 26, presented by President Asif Ali Zardari, acknowledging his contributions to pediatric heart surgeries. Pan, a deputy director at the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, led a team in January 2025 to perform free surgeries for children with congenital heart disease in Pakistan, employing a minimally invasive technique now used in over 1,000 hospitals globally.
His team also trained around 200 local medical professionals. As he advances AI and robotics in cardiac care, Pan exemplifies China's growing international medical outreach, which includes treating children from neighboring countries at Fuwai Yunnan Hospital. The integration of technology promises improved patient outcomes and an expanded capacity for treatment.
