CIRA Approves Strategic Plan 2026-2028 to Enhance Italian Aerospace Sector

The Italian Aerospace Research Center (CIRA) has approved a new Strategic Plan for 2026-2028, focusing on consolidating its role within the National Aerospace Research Program (Prora). The plan emphasizes the development of strategic demonstrators for real-world technology validation and highlights the importance of research infrastructures and digital twins as essential assets for innovation.
CIRA aims to accelerate the transition from research to practical applications, supporting national and European aerospace policies. Through participation in NATO Diana and accreditation with the European Defence Agency, CIRA seeks to enhance its strategic autonomy and strengthen connections between aerospace, security, and defense. The center will advance technologies in sustainable aviation, advanced air mobility, and space access.
