Clallam County commissioners approved an extension of the contract with Clallam Public Defender for indigent public defense services through February 2026, addressing ongoing negotiations regarding state Supreme Court case weighting standards and local criminal justice services. The existing contract was set to expire on December 31.
Additionally, the commissioners extended a contract with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife for improvements at the McDonald Creek water diversion site until April 2, 2029, maintaining the project scope and costs. A personal services agreement was also approved to enhance accessibility at the Clallam County Fair through December 31, 2027, with a budget of $86,469 for sensory equipment and training to support individuals with disabilities.
