On March 19, a cluster bomb explosion in Boeung Snor village, Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province, Cambodia, resulted in the death of a 42-year-old man and serious injuries to a 47-year-old man. The blast occurred when one of the victims accidentally touched the bomb.
Evidence indicated the explosive was an M46 submunition from an NR269 155-mm artillery projectile. The Cambodian Mine Action Center highlighted ongoing threats posed by such remnants of war to the country's peace, safety, and development.
