CMA CGM Expands Strategic Maritime Investments in India
CMA CGM Group is significantly enhancing its commitment to India by commissioning six LNG-powered vessels and establishing a dedicated AI R&D hub in Chennai. This expansion aims to strengthen India's maritime infrastructure and align with the country's Maritime Vision 2047, supporting its emergence as a key player in global trade.

CMA CGM Group is set to commission six LNG-powered container vessels at Cochin Shipyard, marking a milestone in India's shipbuilding ambitions. The company plans to recruit 1,500 Indian seafarers by the end of 2026, reinforcing India's position in the global maritime sector.
Additionally, CMA CGM has launched a dedicated AI research and development hub in Chennai in collaboration with Capgemini, aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency. The upgraded PEARL (PRX) service will provide direct shipping routes from West India to the US West Coast, improving transit times significantly.
These initiatives are expected to bolster India's role as an export hub and enhance its global trade connectivity. The integration of cutting-edge technology with infrastructure development indicates a strategic shift towards a sustainable and innovative logistics framework.
