Coastal Bend LNG Awards FEED Contracts to KBR and Técnicas Reunidas for Texas LNG Terminal
Coastal Bend LNG has awarded front-end engineering and design (FEED) contracts to KBR and Técnicas Reunidas for a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal on the Texas Gulf Coast. The firms will develop FEED for multiple liquefaction trains, with a capacity of 22.5 million tonnes per annum, using ConocoPhillips' Optimized Cascade® Process.
If a positive final investment decision is made, they will proceed to the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phase. The project aims to deliver cost-competitive LNG while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and integrating carbon capture and storage.
Coastal Bend LNG's collaboration with these firms aims to enhance efficiency and economic performance. The facility will include LNG storage tanks and export infrastructure, and it is part of a broader industry trend toward lower-emission LNG solutions. Coastal Bend LNG also selected EXP as the lead environmental consultant for the project.
