Cochin Shipyard Ltd is set to secure a contract from the Indian Navy for the construction of six large survey vessels worth around Rs 6,000 crore. The company emerged as the lowest bidder, offering a price of less than Rs 1,000 crore per vessel.

Larsen & Toubro Shipbuilding submitted the second lowest bid. The Indian Navy is anticipated to announce the bid result shortly and confirm the winning shipyard.
