Coco Robotics has partnered with Niantic Spatial to improve its delivery robots' navigation using data from Pokémon Go. The collaboration aims to leverage over 30 billion images collected since the game's launch in 2016 to enhance the accuracy of robotic deliveries in urban environments. By integrating a Visual Positioning System (VPS) with traditional GPS, the robots can navigate more precisely, ensuring timely deliveries directly to customers' doors.

Unlike GPS, VPS determines location by recognizing surrounding features such as buildings and signs. Coco Robotics operates approximately 1,000 delivery robots across the U.S. and Europe, which can carry up to eight pizzas.
By integrating VPS with GPS, these robots will improve their accuracy when navigating urban environments, ensuring precise delivery to customers' locations.
