Coco Robotics is collaborating with Niantic Spatial to enhance its delivery robots' navigation by utilizing data from Pokémon Go. This partnership focuses on leveraging over 30 billion images collected from the game to develop a more accurate Visual Positioning System (VPS).

Unlike GPS, VPS determines location by recognizing surrounding features such as buildings and signs. Coco Robotics operates approximately 1,000 delivery robots across the U.S. and Europe, which can carry up to eight pizzas.

By integrating VPS with GPS, these robots will improve their accuracy when navigating urban environments, ensuring precise delivery to customers' locations. The partnership aims to create a continuously updated digital map that enhances both the robots' navigation capabilities and the accuracy of the data collected.
