Colombia Advances in C-UAS System Procurement for National Anti-Drone Shield Initiative
Colombia's Ministry of National Defense is structuring the procurement process for Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) as part of the 'National Anti-Drone Shield' program announced in December 2025. The initiative aims to equip armed forces with capabilities for detection, identification, and neutralization of drones. The process is in the technical definition phase, with over 100 companies invited to participate. Contracts are projected to be signed by May 7, 2026, including industrial compensation agreements to benefit the country.

Colombia's Ministry of National Defense is advancing the procurement of Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) for the 'National Anti-Drone Shield' program, initiated in December 2025. Currently in the technical definition phase, the Ministry held a preliminary meeting on January 16, 2026, and invited over 100 companies from 27 countries, including the US, France, and Germany, to participate.
Various system configurations will be acquired, addressing operational needs from strategic installations to deployed units. A socialization meeting is scheduled for March 24, followed by controlled testing from March 25 to April 17. Contracts are expected to be signed by May 7, 2026, including offset agreements to support the economy.
