Colombo Fort Bus Stand Reopens with Upgraded Facilities
The Colombo Fort Bus Stand reopens today with enhanced facilities after renovations under the 'Clean Sri Lanka' initiative. This upgrade includes a new information center, improved sanitation, and designated areas for bus parking and queuing.

The Colombo Fort Bus Stand has resumed operations following renovations completed under the 'Clean Sri Lanka' national program, with labor support from the Sri Lanka Air Force. Phase one improvements include refurbished buildings, an information center, and sanitation facilities, while future phases will designate floors for bus operations, driver rest areas, and administrative functions.
In addition, special transport services will commence on April 9, deploying around 1,500 buses to various destinations such as Hatton, Badulla, and Kandy. This expansion is significant for accommodating increased travel demands during the Sinhala and Hindu New Year season.
