Conagua Awards 110 Million Peso Cybersecurity Contract to SCITUM
Conagua has awarded a 110 million peso cybersecurity contract to SCITUM, S.A. de C.V. for digital security management from September 2026 to February 2028. This contract aims to enhance the protection of strategic infrastructure against cyber threats.

The National Water Commission (Conagua) has contracted SCITUM, S.A. de C.V. for 110 million pesos to enhance its cybersecurity from September 16, 2026, to February 29, 2028. The contract includes monitoring, vulnerability analysis, and incident response for Conagua's information systems.
SCITUM was selected over two competitors: Tecnologías de Información América, S.A. de C.V., and TIC Defense, S.A. de C.V. The company's past involvement with government intelligence tools raises concerns, particularly in light of a 2024 investigation linking SCITUM to the HIWIRE platform supplied to the Secretariat of National Defense. The Attorney General's Office has recently faced instability, highlighted by the resignation of Ulises Lara López amid ongoing investigations.
