Concrete Chemicals Secures €350 Million for Germany's Largest e-SAF Production Facility
Concrete Chemicals GmbH has secured €350 million in funding to establish Germany's largest industrial-scale Electro-Sustainable Aviation Fuels (e-SAF) facility in Schwedt. The project aims to produce over 37,000 tonnes of synthetic kerosene annually using biogenic CO₂ and renewable hydrogen, significantly reducing fossil CO₂ emissions and supporting the EU's clean hydrogen economy and climate goals. The technical planning phase is set to begin immediately, with a final investment decision expected by 2027.

Concrete Chemicals GmbH has obtained €350 million in funding for Germany’s largest industrial-scale Electro-Sustainable Aviation Fuels (e-SAF) plant. This funding, approved at national and regional levels, is under review by the European Commission.
The project, located in Schwedt, aims to enhance e-SAF production capacity while contributing to the EU's clean hydrogen economy and climate goals. The facility will utilize biogenic CO₂ and renewable hydrogen to produce synthetic kerosene via a Power-to-Liquid process, with a planned output of over 37,000 tonnes annually.
It is expected to reduce fossil CO₂ emissions by at least 100,000 tonnes per year. The initiative aligns with the EU blending mandates under the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation and supports Germany's Sustainable Aviation Strategy. The technical planning phase starts immediately, with a final investment decision anticipated by 2027.
