Congo's Economy Projected to Grow 5.2% in 2026 Amid Hydrocarbon Export Boost
The Republic of Congo's economy is forecasted to expand by 5.2% in 2026, primarily due to increased hydrocarbon exports. This growth is attributed to a 27.2% rise in hydrocarbon production following the completion of Phase II of Congo LNG, which is set to enhance government revenue significantly.

Congo's economy is anticipated to grow by 5.2% in 2026, rising from an estimated 2.5% in 2025. This increase is driven by a 128% expected boost in natural gas production and an overall 27.2% rise in hydrocarbon output due to Phase II of Congo LNG, which now has a capacity of 3 million metric tons per year.
The government plans to increase spending by 10.4% in the 2026 budget, focusing on goods and services. However, growth is projected to slow to 3.5% in 2027 as hydrocarbon production stabilizes and energy prices decline.
Inflation is set to average 3.5% in 2026, but government measures may help mitigate its impact on households. Increased oil prices could provide additional fiscal space for public spending.
