Conscious Aerospace Advances CA2100 Fuel Cell Powertrain for Dash 8-300 with €73M Funding
Conscious Aerospace is progressing on its CA2100 fuel cell powertrain, targeting flight tests on a Dash 8-300 within three years. Partnerships with Aeronamic, EH Group, and Senior Aerospace are solidified, and an iron bird test is planned for two years. The project has received €73 million from the Dutch government's green aerospace initiative. Conscious aims to retrofit the Dash 8-300, achieving a range of 404nm, and is engaged with airlines like KLM and Transavia for operational insights.

Conscious Aerospace is developing the 2MW-class CA2100 fuel cell powertrain for flight tests on a De Havilland Dash 8-300 within three years. Partnerships with Aeronamic, EH Group, and Senior Aerospace are confirmed, and an iron bird test is set for two years.
The project received €73 million from the Dutch government's Luchtvaart in Transitie initiative. The retrofit aims for a range of 404nm, covering 90% of the Dash 8-300's routes. Collaborations with KLM and Transavia are underway to understand operational needs.
Additionally, there is interest from Asia-Pacific airlines and potential military applications. Conscious is also working with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency for certification.
