Continue the Change and Democratic Bulgaria to Form Coalition Ahead of Snap Parliamentary Elections
Continue the Change (CC) has received approval from its National Council to finalize a coalition agreement with Democratic Bulgaria ahead of the upcoming snap parliamentary elections, aiming for completion by January 31. The coalition will focus on legislative reforms to combat corruption and ensure fair elections, while CC Chair Assen Vassilev emphasizes the importance of EU federalization and concerns over potential funding losses under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The National Council of Continue the Change (CC) authorized the party's Executive Council to finalize a coalition agreement with Democratic Bulgaria for the upcoming snap parliamentary elections, targeting completion by January 31. The agreement will maintain current proportional representation and precinct election commission member allocation and disallow the coalition from nominating expelled individuals.
CC aims to dismantle corruption in Bulgaria through legislative reforms ensuring freedom and justice. With Bulgaria now in the euro area, discussions on national goals and international positioning are emphasized.
CC Chair Assen Vassilev advocates for EU federalization and a common defense to ensure security. He also expressed concerns about potential funding loss under the Recovery and Resilience Plan due to political shifts. The caretaker government’s primary role is to ensure fair elections, with ongoing discussions regarding potential appointments for key positions.
