The Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission captured a false-color image of the Ouarzazate solar power station in south-central Morocco, showcasing the surrounding Anti-Atlas Mountains and desert landscape. The image, taken in January 2026, reveals vegetation in bright red and the El Mansour Eddahbi Reservoir in deep blue, indicative of the rainy season.

The Ouarzazate solar power station, also known as Noor Power Station, spans over 7,400 acres and is recognized as the largest concentrated solar power facility globally. The Sentinel-2 mission includes three satellites in low Earth orbit, with two launched in 2015 and 2017, and a third added in 2024.
