COPT Defense Signs $88 Million Build-to-Suit Lease for Facility in San Antonio
COPT Defense Properties signed an $88 million build-to-suit lease with a Fortune 100 company for a 132,000 square foot facility in San Antonio, Texas. Construction is set to begin in Q3 2026, with rent starting in Q4 2027.
This facility will enhance operations on the existing San Antonio campus. The project is part of COPT Defense's 2025 investment strategy, which totaled $277 million across five developments totaling 640,000 square feet within its Defense/IT Portfolio, surpassing the management's guidance of $225 to $275 million. Other developments include projects at Redstone Arsenal, Northern Virginia, the Fort Meade/Baltimore-Washington Corridor, and Lackland Air Force Base, with four projects fully leased at commitment and one at Redstone Arsenal 20% leased.
