Counterterrorism police in Balochistan killed five militants from the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) during an operation in Mastung district. The operation targeted militants planning to block the Quetta-Sibi highway and attack security forces.

Intelligence indicated that BLA militants were positioned in the Dasht area. Upon engagement, the militants opened fire, resulting in a confrontation where five were killed; others escaped into the mountainous terrain.

Authorities recovered seven hand grenades, five sub-machine guns, and three motorcycles from the scene. Ongoing search operations aim to capture the fleeing militants and disrupt their network.
