CPRA Awards Coastal Dredging Company Contract for East Delacroix Marsh Creation Project in Louisiana
The Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) has awarded Coastal Dredging Company a contract for the East Delacroix Marsh Creation and Terracing project in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. This project aims to create and nourish nearly 400 acres of marsh and construct 19,360 linear feet of terraces to reduce wave energy and erosion. Construction is expected to be completed by August 2027.

This Phase 2 project under the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) aims to create nearly 400 acres of marsh and construct 19,360 linear feet of terraces to protect against wave energy and erosion. Construction is scheduled for completion by August 2027, involving sediment dredged from Lake Lery. The project is part of Louisiana's strategy to restore wetlands and protect coastal communities.
