Czech defense company CSG Group will build an artillery propellant plant in Strazske, Slovakia, through a joint venture with France's Eurenco. The investment is around €300 million, with construction set to begin shortly and production anticipated to start in 2028.
The partnership addresses a shortage in propellant charge systems for artillery ammunition in Europe. ZVS Holding, part-owned by CSG, will lead the project, which is expected to create approximately 300 jobs and significantly enhance Slovakia's defense production capabilities. The factory will produce several hundred thousand powder cartridges annually.
