CU Researchers and Startups Receive $7.5 Million in Advanced Industries Accelerator Funds
A total of $7.5 million in grants from the Advanced Industries Accelerator program has been awarded to eight CU researchers and four startups. This funding supports innovations in gene therapies, optical materials, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Eight University of Colorado researchers received $150,000 each in proof-of-concept grants for projects ranging from nanorobotic DNA synthesis to AI-powered wargaming platforms. Four CU-affiliated startups, including Blue Cubed LLC and Codebreaker Tx Inc., secured $250,000 grants for early-stage capital and retention, focusing on laser communications and genomic data services.
This funding aims to foster advancements in critical sectors such as healthcare, defense, and technology. The investments may enhance Colorado's reputation as a hub for innovation but also highlight the competitive landscape for securing state support.
