Czech Coalition Government Decides Against 2026 Defense Spending Increase

The Czech coalition government of ANO, SPD, and the Motorists will not increase defense spending in 2026, according to Chamber of Deputies Speaker Tomio Okamura. He stated that prioritizing funds for citizens over armaments is essential. The previous government had aimed to raise defense spending to three percent of GDP by 2030.
