Czech Government to Audit F-35 Fighter Jet Purchase Contract Worth $7.2 Billion
The Czech government is set to audit its $7.2 billion contract for 24 F-35 fighter jets, focusing on contract conditions, advance payments, and potential overpayments. Finance Minister Alena Schillerova and Defense Minister Jaromir Zuna emphasized the importance of this review, which may include analyzing the possibility of contract termination, despite opposition from the ruling ANO party. The acquisition, approved in 2023, encompasses costs for training, equipment, weapons, and lifecycle support.
