Czech-Slovak Wolf Armored Vehicle Engaged in Ukraine Combat
Two anti-drone variants of the Wolf armored vehicle are operational in Ukraine, confirmed by Czech President Petr Pavel. This development underscores the response of Eastern European manufacturers to the evolving warfare landscape dominated by drone threats.

The Wolf armored vehicle, produced by Slovak company DefTech, is now actively engaged in combat in Ukraine, specifically in a counter-drone configuration. Czech President Petr Pavel confirmed the deployment of two modified units during a visit to Chropyňská strojírna, which holds a 60% stake in DefTech, on June 3.
The vehicle’s design aims to provide mobility and protection, addressing the challenges posed by widespread drone activity in the region. If both Czech and Slovak armies proceed with procurement contracts, production may shift to the Chropyňská facility, potentially boosting local manufacturing jobs. This operational deployment serves as a critical test for the vehicle, influencing future defense procurement strategies in both countries.
