The Dan Beard Council launched the Dever Family Foundation Skilled Trades Education Center on January 24 at Camp Friedlander in Miami Township. This 10,000-square-foot facility focuses on hands-on education in skilled trades amid rising demand for workers.

The grand opening featured over 70 Scouts participating in activities related to automotive maintenance, carpentry, robotics, welding, and plumbing. The center aims to build youth confidence and leadership skills while collaborating with local organizations for community-focused programs. It will also support summer camp activities and workforce readiness initiatives.
