Deer River Advances $2.1 Million Sewer Project and Infrastructure Initiatives
The Deer River City Council is progressing on a $2.1 million sewer main project and has reached 90% design for a walking trail. These infrastructure upgrades are essential for supporting local development and community services.

The Deer River City Council confirmed a $2.1 million wastewater expansion for the White Oak Casino sewer main extension, with initial funding secured for engineering design. A total construction cost estimate will be finalized post-design phase.
The north walking trail project has achieved 90% design completion and is set for bids by early winter 2027, pending U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approval. In related discussions, a blight mowing ordinance was enforced, and payment plans for residents were established.
Additionally, donations of over $13,000 were accepted for community enhancements. The council is also addressing other infrastructure needs, such as an AED replacement and an audit for recent demolition funding.
