With a 3.3-kilometer runway, the airport is strategically located 18 km from Deesa city and is well-connected by major highways.

The Government of India has given in-principle approval to convert the Deesa Air Force Station in Banaskantha into a joint civilian-military airport, marking North Gujarat's first civilian airport. The project will utilize 100 acres for the terminal development within a nearly 4,500-acre complex.
This initiative addresses a long-standing demand for air connectivity, as residents currently rely on Ahmedabad airport. The existing 3.3-kilometer runway is the longest in Gujarat, supporting civilian operations.
The state government plans to allocate budget funds for the project. Located 18 km from Deesa city, the airport has strong road connectivity, with major highways nearby. The project aims to enhance regional air connectivity for both North Gujarat and neighboring Rajasthan districts.
