DEFSEC Technologies Inc. has announced the launch of its Battlespace Laser Identification Sensor System (BLISS™), enhancing laser threat detection and networked situational awareness. Initial BLISS units are scheduled for delivery next month, following the deployment of BLDS units for U.S.
Army testing in June 2025. BLISS incorporates new technology under provisional patent and aims to improve force protection and intelligence for military commanders. It alerts operators to laser activity, providing critical early warnings and enabling timely defense actions.
The system is designed to be low-cost and scalable for use across various military applications. DEFSEC is also developing software applications to assist in threat analysis and integration with NATO allies' situational awareness systems. This advancement addresses the growing use of laser threats by adversaries, offering a significant tactical advantage.
