Delays at Rügen LNG Terminal Due to Ice and Wind Impacting Tanker Operations
Operational delays at the Rügen LNG terminal have occurred due to ice and wind conditions. The tanker 'Minerva Amorgos' was scheduled to arrive earlier but faced delays from unfavorable winds and ice build-up. The German icebreaker 'Arkona' assisted by freeing the tanker from ice. Currently, the terminal is occupied by the tanker 'Maran Gas Nice,' which has overstayed its scheduled slot. An attempt is planned to swap the tankers on Thursday evening.

The Rügen LNG terminal is experiencing significant operational delays due to ice and wind, affecting the arrival of the tanker 'Minerva Amorgos.' Initially, unfavorable winds delayed its docking, and the situation worsened with ice conditions.
The German icebreaker 'Arkona' assisted in freeing the tanker from the ice. The terminal currently has the 'Maran Gas Nice' tanker occupying its slot longer than the usual one-week allocation. On Thursday evening, efforts will be made to replace the 'Maran Gas Nice' with the 'Minerva Amorgos.' The ice thickness in the region exceeds 20 centimeters, impacting shipping operations.
