Demonstration Against LNG Terminal Plans at Hooksieler Außenhafen
On March 7, environmental groups, including Fridays for Future, will protest at Hooksieler Außenhafen against plans for a third LNG terminal in Wilhelmshaven. Activists from the USA and Ukraine will participate, calling for a halt to LNG imports and expressing concerns about climate impacts and human rights in supply chains. The protest starts at 10:30 AM.

Environmental organizations, including Fridays for Future Wilhelmshaven-Friesland and Nabu-Kreisgruppe Wilhelmshaven, are organizing a demonstration at Hooksieler Außenhafen on March 7 against the proposed third LNG terminal in Wilhelmshaven. The event, beginning at 10:30 AM, will feature international speakers and aims to halt LNG imports, addressing concerns over excess capacity in relation to climate and human rights. In January, the city council approved a planning change to facilitate the construction of the Jade Energy Terminal in a previously designated nature reserve.
