Denbighshire Council Relocates 27 Families After Ending TEA at Three Properties
Denbighshire County Council has relocated 27 families after ending the use of three properties in Rhyl and Prestatyn for temporary emergency accommodation due to compliance issues and a refused planning application. The council now relies on 10 private TEA properties and is developing a new model involving five properties managed by The Sanctuary Trust, with support from The Salvation Army.

Denbighshire County Council ceased using three properties in Rhyl and Prestatyn for temporary emergency accommodation, leading to the relocation of 27 families. The council reported that Ty Glyn's planning application was refused, and the other properties were deemed inappropriate.
A report highlighted compliance issues with the accommodations, prompting a corporate decision to withdraw. The council currently utilizes 10 private TEA properties with a capacity of 157 rooms and is developing a new model involving five properties managed by The Sanctuary Trust, with support from The Salvation Army.
