Deutsche Energy Terminal Continues Ultrasonic System at Wilhelmshaven LNG Terminal Amid Antifouling Transition
Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH confirmed that the ultrasonic system remains operational at the 'Excelsior' LNG terminal in Wilhelmshaven, serving as an antifouling measure amid reduced bioactivity in the water. The company plans to transition to electrochlorination to enhance protection against algae and mussel growth, with coordination efforts ongoing with regulatory authorities.

The ultrasonic system is still in use at the LNG terminal 'Excelsior' in Wilhelmshaven, according to Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH (DET). The system is currently operational as antifouling due to lower bioactivity in the water, but DET plans to implement electrochlorination soon to protect against algae and mussel growth. Coordination with regulatory authorities on the transition to electrochlorination, which is considered state-of-the-art, is ongoing.
