Digi-AI Bus Launched in Nairobi to Enhance Digital Skills for Underserved Youth
The Digi-AI Bus has been launched in Nairobi to provide computer science, coding, and AI education to students in underserved communities. This initiative, a collaboration between Kings Rugby Development Academy, Atlas Foundation, Code Yangu, and Konza Technopolis, aims to bridge digital access gaps by delivering technology training directly to schools with limited ICT infrastructure.
Plans include rolling out 1,450 digital hubs in the region. The initiative targets learners in informal settlements, focusing on delivering practical digital skills to improve employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The bus is equipped with computers and AI-powered learning software, capable of serving up to 40 students at once. This self-sufficient mobile classroom operates using solar power and aims to reach at least 760 learners weekly, enhancing digital inclusion and workforce readiness.
